Puno is mirrored in the waters of Lake Titicaca, where myth has it that the sun was born. The festive joy of folklore floods the feria, the traditional market, with the notes of Andean music and the bright colours of the costumes, such as the Vidrio and the orange Tucano. The lake adds the iridescent shades of Isla blue and Rio periwinkle water to the landscape, mixed with the Raiz and Caqui colours that characterise the small floating islands built by the Uros by weaving the roots and reeds of the totora plant.
